AdminTor, PGP, and privacy guides

I write and maintain every guide on this site — Tor setup, encryption, bridges, and the basics of keeping a crypto wallet from leaking more than it should.

Where this started

I've spent years hanging around Tor-focused forums, mostly answering the same questions from people who just installed Tor Browser and hit a wall. Bridges that won't connect. Safest mode breaking a login page. A PGP key that imports fine in Kleopatra but shows as invalid somewhere else. Connection errors that look random until you figure out it's the ISP blocking relays, not Tor itself.

That kind of back-and-forth taught me what beginners actually stumble on — not what's in a release note, but what shows up at 2 a.m. when nothing works and the official docs assume you already know half the vocabulary.

What I work on day to day

Most of my hands-on time goes to GnuPG and Kleopatra (importing keys, verifying signatures, not mixing up fingerprint formats), the Tor Browser security slider, and getting obfs4 or Snowflake bridges running when a direct connection fails. I also cover Tails basics for people who want a live OS instead of tweaking their main machine, plus wallet hygiene for Bitcoin and Monero — seed phrases, address reuse, the boring stuff that saves you later.

Every article here I write myself. When Tor Browser moves a menu or the Tor Project rewrites a support page, I go back through the guides and fix what's outdated. I'd rather leave a section short than paste something I haven't checked.

How I decide what to publish

I try to stick to primary sources — Tor Project docs, the Tails manual, getmonero.org — and say when something depends on your setup. A bridge config that works for most ISPs still might not work for yours. Safest mode is the right default for hidden services, but you'll occasionally need Safer for thirty seconds to clear a CAPTCHA. I'm not interested in forum rumors dressed up as fact.

If you want the bigger picture on what this site is and isn't, the about page covers that. For what changed recently, check site updates.
